The day of erection was eagerly awaited. The area where the sculpture was erected on the Kleinebene had already been selected by Tim Otto Roth together with the head of the municipal building yard Johannes Birk and the tenant of the cattle pasture Franz Huber in May.Employees of the building yard have prepared the ground and laid a gravel bed of reddish porphyry from Ottenhöfen in the neighbouring valley.

The team from Komzet Bau Bühl did an excellent job in midsummer temperatures. Seven dynamic apprentice carpenters, led by instructor Florian Braun, did a great job despite the scorching heat and erected the first three letters. Erecting a sculpture was a completely new task for the apprentices. With curiosity - for example, they discussed with Tim Otto Roth why he wanted to write NATUR into the landscape - and with great dedication, they mastered the unusual project. For the outsider, it was impressive how well the young men worked hand in hand.
Tasks were distributed and worked through quickly. Everyone had a lot of fun, for example when looking for one of the more than 200 numbered wooden beams in order to fit the beams together like a puzzle. A special challenge was hammering the last oak dowels into each letter. With a view over the valley, the boys worked quickly and precisely at dizzying heights.

The young carpenters also do not have to deal with the different types of wood of the NATUR sculpture every day: The N is made of larch, the A of Douglas fir and the T of heavy oak. On the second day of construction, the lettering was completed with the U made of chestnut and the R made of fir. Instructor Florian Braun is thrilled when the team stands together in front of the finished sculpture.
